PEJC, UC , PNP MOA Signing

November 30, 2021 – MOA Signing with University of Cebu Legal Aid and the Philippine National Police (PNP)

On November 30, 2021, a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement between PEJC, University of Cebu Legal Aid, and the PNP Advisory Council was held to formalize a year long partnership between the institutions.

Present during the event were Atty. Baldomero C. Estenzo, the President of University of Cebu Legal Aid and Law Center, PCol Engelbert Z. Soriano, the Provincial Director of PNP, Ma. Teresa B. Chan, Chairperson of the CPPO-Provincial Advisory Council, Hon. Julieto N. Flores, Municipal Mayor of Barili, members of the CPPO Advisory Council and the PEJC team.

The main objective of this partnership is to capacitate our law enforcers on our environmental laws and develop deeper understanding on the remedies under the Rules of Procedure for Environmental Cases with particular focus on the concept of Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation. This partnership reinforces one of the priorities of PEJC to mainstream environmental justice by strengthening the enforcement of our environmental laws through specialized training for our frontline enforcers.
