Focus Group Discussions in Binaliw and Aloguinsan, Cebu

On June 20, 2021, PEJC conducted an FGD at Binaliw, Cebu on the residents’ perception, knowledge, and awareness of the proposed WTE project in their area. The discussion was attended by representatives of diverse sectors, including the Spring Valley Country Homes Homeowners Association, Inc., the Spring Valley Youth Organization, and also the original residents of the area. The participants were all residents of Binaliw, Cebu and are currently living meters away from the Binaliw Landfill—the area proposed to be converted into a thermal WTE Facility.

On August 21, 2021, PEJC onducted another FGD on the same topic of WTE facilities with the local community of Aloguinsan, Cebu, another area where a proposed thermal WTE facility shall be established. The FGD participants were relatively varied with representatives consisting of professionals, student leaders, residents, police officer, and a teacher who have been residing near the project area.
